Monday Meme-ing: Feeling Cranky

What I'm allegedly reading: Cicero by Anthony Everitt, a biography of the statesman and brilliant rhetorician coupled with a social portrait of Rome during the end of the Republic. More interesting than it sounds, and I will probably get back to it, having been momentarily derailed by...

What I'm actually reading: A Year in the Merde by Stephen Clarke. Because it has been that kind of week. And this amuses me.

What I'm eating: Doritos and salsa.

What I'm drinking: Red wine on ice. Yes. On Monday. At 12:30 p.m. With my lunch of doritos and salsa. Because it has been that kind of week. Already.

What I'm watching: The green grass grow.

What I'm listening to: The whirr of the washing machine; the hum of my printer; the clickety-clack of M's fingers on the keyboard, as always, more productive than I.

What I have scheduled in the week ahead of me: phone calls and checking account nonsense, furnace repairs, dentist appointments, dog groomers, laundry, and other events of a similar nature.

What I'm feeling: Constraints and limitations. Don't want to drive into town; We drove all weekend, and there's enough of that ahead of me this week. But it's too quiet around here, and none of my projects are holding my attention. Makes me edgy and cranky. No fun to be around.

What I want: Good question. And answering it would be a start in the right direction. So off I go, in search of inspiration and peace.

And how is your Monday going?

Wow... wish you'd called. Or written. Huge hugs to you.

Glad you're enjoying A Year in the Merde, though. ;-)

huh where did my comment go? I was the first one to comment yesterday!? Ok let me remember what I said

When I read you were reading Cicero by Anthony Everitt I first thought "huh why isn't she reading Cicero by cicero himself in a translation". But then of course I realised that Cicero never wrote a book about himself :p

A yeard in the Merde sounds like a funny book! Is it something you can recommend? In the extract he starts with the claim that New Year really starts in September and not in January. Hey that is something I wrote in June as well! I like the author already :p
