Sunday Scribblings: Trust 1 (or, what did Heraclitus mean when he said that only change endures)

On these things, my life depends:
the rising sun
spring rains
the spinning orbit of our earth
a working well
unbroken circuits
the certainty of my husband’s humor
The knowledge that he will plow the drive
I will make the coffee
When he returns,
we will drink it together.

So much packed into a beautiful list poem, going from larger to smaller (though there is nothing smaller about the certainty of husband humor, eh?), the loveliness of coffee together as the foundation of it all...

Beauty in your words. Very hopeful poem, a reflection of a good life.

Talk about valentines and poems of the heart -- Indeed, this is truly a love poem -- love of life, love of your life partner, love of simplicity, beauty, joy and the senses.

This is beautiful.

The simple joys of life,
The simple routines hold so much of our happiness, but we don't always realise it.

I love the way you've moved from the universal to the minutely personal, all perfectly expressed.

You are so talented :)
